The marketing-team problem

Buyers used to start in Google. Now they start in ChatGPT. The brands that show up in those answers win the consideration set — the ones that don't are invisible at the top of the funnel. AI citation is what fixes that, and it's a different signal stack than SEO.

Brand voice locked in

Banned phrases, tone of voice, differentiators, sources we cite from — all defined by you in Brand Facts. Every draft passes through that filter before it hits your queue. No corporate jargon, no fabricated claims.

Target queries you actually care about

Pick the 5–15 questions you want to win in AI answers. We anchor every draft to them, measure citation rate weekly, and auto-swap any query stuck at 0% for 30 days (with your approval).

Weekly digest, not per-item noise

One email Friday morning with everything that needs you. Magic-link "approve all" button. No 47 ping notifications a week.

Citation Reports for your CMO deck

Monthly PDF. Citations across Claude / ChatGPT / Gemini / Perplexity, AI citation score trend, top-performing pages, your share of voice in your category. Drop it straight into your monthly metrics review.

Coexists with your SEO program

SEO + AI citation use overlapping signals (good content, schema, brand authority) but optimize different surfaces. Toutmark complements SEO — we don't replace it. Schema we ship is also good for Google.

Cancel any time, revert anything

Every change snapshotted. Per-item revert + global revert from one button. Cancel from your dashboard, no annual lock-in. Click-to-cancel, no phone calls.

Marketing-team questions

How is this different from our SEO tooling?
SEO optimizes for ranking in Google's blue links. AI citation optimizes for being cited inside an AI-generated answer. The signals overlap (good content, schema, brand authority) but the surfaces and metrics differ. Toutmark complements your SEO stack — most teams keep both. Schema we deploy is also valid for Google.
How do you keep our brand voice?
You define it. Brand Facts on the dashboard captures tagline, tone of voice, banned phrases, differentiators, and the sources we cite from. Every draft Editor processes runs against that filter — drafts that violate banned phrases get rejected before they hit your queue. You can update Brand Facts any time and the next batch of drafts respects the new rules within hours.
Will you publish on our site without approval?
No, by default. Every change waits in your approval queue until you click Accept (or bulk-approve). You can opt into per-feature auto-publish on Settings — schema and llms.txt are common picks since they're low-risk — but everything else queues. Editor's compliance gate runs on every draft regardless. One hard rule: if a review on G2, Capterra, or Google Business Profile asks for something not offered on your site (refund, custom feature, scope outside your plans), the response always routes to your approval queue — no matter what auto-approve setting you have. The customer's voice belongs on those replies.
How long until we see citation lift?
First citations usually show up in 2–4 weeks. Meaningful lift across the four engines tends to land at 60–90 days as schema work compounds and Wikidata claims age into AI training reach. We can't promise specific outcomes — AI engines decide what they cite — but we can show you the inputs we adjust and measure the lift weekly.
What's the onboarding burden on us?
About 30 minutes of intake at signup (target queries, brand voice, banned phrases) and one 60-second OAuth install on your CMS. After that it's about 30 min/week to review the queue, plus the monthly Citation Report. We don't require a kickoff call.
